Here's a great site that tells about Chris Stratton's efforts to make a horn starting with a roll of flashing from Home Depot (it didn't work). Great reading and an insight into the process from an amateur's viewpoint. There used to be a similar site in Japan that showed the manufacturing process quite well, but I've lost the link:
