Allow me to relate a story that happened to a trumpet player friend of mine....

Allow me to first set the scene. A school bus, containing 20-30 rowdy marching band members. A trombone player just happens to find a freshman trumpet player's horn laying on a chair, so he decides to scare her a little. He holds the horn out the window and pretends like he's going to drop it. What he doesn't realize (until it's too late), is that he has the horn by the tuning slide. The horn (which was in P*ss poor shape to begin with), fell to the ground outside the bus. The girl cried, tried to kill the trombone player, then cried some more. The trumpet was destroyed. The moral of my story??? Don't be upset about what happened to your Euph. You're lucky it wasn't damaged worse than it was. Roll out the dents, be thankful it works, and consider what small marks might remain part of the horn's "character".
