I own a PT20p and I love it. When I traveled to Custom Music I tried several horns including the PT3. I didn't like andything I tried except for the pt4 rotar and piston horns. I went to Detroit with the intention of buying the most free blowing CC tuba possible. I tried a couple Meinl Westons and found them stuffy. I also tried several other models but only one horn stood out previous to my dicovery of the pt20p. It was a 20 year old Rudy Meinl that a fellow student here owns. This horn is seriously magical. It is by far the most free blowing instrument I have ever had the pleasure of playing prior to my pt20p. As you can see the ease in wich the must play was one of my biggest concerns. After playing a vergin CC whole note I was convinced. I did some very extensive testing of all the mechanical asspects of the horn before I gave in.
This horn is perfect for an all around horn. It lends itself nicely to quintet playing and has just enough oomph to support a symphonic band.
