I would have to say that the worst tuba that I have ever played was a Yamaha 3/4 CC that had a "fluttering" sound.
Not that the tuba was so bad, but the owner brought it in to me to try to figure out what was causing the fluttering noise. After playing it for a few seconds, I realized that the mouthpipe had about 4 tablespoons full of slimy green stuff in it.
I was sick to my stomach for the rest of that day until I went to bed that night.

The "runner-up" (based on its playing characteristics alone) is a "single" Bb (euphonium length) Mahillion tuba. OH !!! BTW, its FOR SALE. (just kidding, as I live by the Golden Rule)
