Suzie, I find the sound very pleasant when I play it and quite good for the students
using it in my studio. My original purpose in buying it was to have a good studio horn for smaller students. In performance, when I play BBb, I use a Hirsbrunner HB4C but I mostly play EEb in performance because I am an old man and EEbs are a little lighter.
Now that I have the Weril, who knows? But I wouldn't hesitate to use the Weril, if
pressed to do so. I won't advise you on which horn to save up for since I do not know
what a Mirafone 127 is. If it does not have 4 valves I wouldn't bother with it, though.
Another poster mentioned using a Conn Helleberg 7B on the Weril. This mouthpiece is
quite like the Conn 2, but with a narrower rim. It should work very well.
