I use a reunion blues gig bag ("grand orchestral") with my Holton BAT
-don't even own a hard case, no need for it. The horn deserves reasonable care
and certainly gets it from me - I don't see a case as a crutch for care,

or other use. If you go for a gig bag for your BAT, I'd suggest you stay away
from leather, although it "might" offer slight more protection than heavily-padded
cordura, it weighs a LOT, and for me a gig bag shouldn't weigh more than the horn
Another thought, if you're concerned about the "girth" of a gig bag,
how could a hard case be any easier?
