I just had the good fortune the other day to play the knew St. Petersburg tuba. It has a heavy bell and better valves. There will also be a CC version coming out to. For what this horn is it is a good horn at a good price. I know some people have had trouble in the past, but I found that this latest one had a great sound and was very well made. For someone who cant affored 12k brunner, or even 5-6k horn, this latest horn will be great. For some one with a very limited budget this horn is for you. Compared to the 4/4 Yamaha the St. Petersburg tuba wins hands down also I found it very comfortable to hold and to blow through.
I went to the tuba exchange just for fun and yried out a ton of old and knew horns, and besides one of the knew Mirphone models and a old BB flat Holton York i thought the horn was great.
