I first bought a RB bag 15 years ago and a strap buckle broke and over the course of 6 years a seam pulled out. i called them and they said to send it back to SF and they would fix it. they said repair costs are usually about $35. So I boxed it up and shipped it out. the called me back and said they were baffled as to why the seam pulled out and sold me a brand new one for $50. This was a Cordura bag. I asked if they would sell me a leather bag for a similar discount and they said yes...$250! i ended up buying the cordura bag. I wished I had bought the leather, but I have been happy. the new bag had a new strap design with a much heavier buckle so the strap problem has probably been fixed.
dolly bags look interesting with their plastic "armor" in them, but I have not seen one up close and personal.
