I know this has been discussed to some degree before but her goes another try. I was speaking to a friend the other day who was in the auto body repair and I questioned him about the lacquer finish thing. His rememberance of lacquer finishes was: Years ago, before all the new technology with urethane etc. and before his time, cars were all painted with lacquer. The finish was sprayed on with not the best of results. The body was then placed in and oven and (baked?) at a certain temperature for a certain length of time. The lacquer seemed to sort of melt and run together and made a very nice shinny finish. He doesn't know how hot or how long. Is there anything to this? Anybody know temp. and time? Any one had sucessful results with something like this? Don't know, then do you know who might know?
