I think what Rick means (assuming he just isnt trying to get a laugh or 2) is that the PT6P is designed with qualities of both. I played one for about 2 seconds (I just started college last year, I don't need to get the mind-set that I like a horn too expensive for me already 8D ). But I believe it had that type of sound. A mostly "American" quality, but with a bit more...I dunno, bite I guess (Had that blossom quality, but not as much as the Nirschl-York Copy did. But also wasn't quite a collom either). I prefer a large, foundation type sound, with this horn being close (for me). But like I said, It is a great horn, and I don't think it would do you wrong either way.
