Most piston valves will need constant oiling for the first 2 to 3 weeks of constant playing. On my new 2341, I had to oil all 4 valves before each practice session. (daily)
I pulled and cleaned all of the valves after day 3, and found the green gross junk already forming on the valves, even though you could not see it until you wiped the valve down with a cloth.

I may be the only one brave enough to admit that I use brasso on my valves. This helped keep the junk off of the valves. I am still oiling 2nd and 3rd every other day or so. It is getting better. I feel that I will be able to stop doing that as often soon.

Good luck

Tom
