I concur with Matt, but I'll add this: If you've ever played in the cold, it's tough on you, and it takes your axe a while to warm up and come precisely into tune (not much of a problem by yourself). Here in south Texas, you couldn't practice outside nine months out of the year. You would burn up, and your horn would get too hot to hold. It's like playing in a sauna. I guess playing in Minnesota in January would be equally as miserable. Anyway, if you play uncovered, don't forget to dump your bell. Sometimes leaves and small critters like to sneak in.
