I should mention that my wife has been seeing a chiropractor for an unrelated problem. She has had some help with the TMJ through the Chiroprator Doctor when he performed such as you describe.
My wife is seeing the chiropractor for a set of ruptured disks in the neck area directly below the skull. As part of the tension relaxation, the doctor treated the jaw area as well. Pain has not been anywhere near the same since.
