Some of the (yes top drawer and exclusive but) tiny conservatories such as the Cleveland Institute and Curtis can only accomodate one or so tuba guys every four or so years. The UCLA idea might be a good one, if you could get in to such a place. Northwestern, obviously, is another good choice, as you could also tip-toe over to see Mr. Pokorny (if he could fit you into his schedule) every so often as your extra-curricular lesson money might allow, and isn't Floyd Cooley spending a lot of time around Chicagoland these days?
