One quibble, Rick. It's the 189 that has the slanted valves. The 187 has the "Direct Valve System" linkages, but the valves are not slanted. The 187 also has a bigger bottom bow and bell throat than the 186. The bell rim is the same 17.25" as the newer 186's though.
