The pitch on Student horns seems to usually be "locked in" meaning that the pitch of the horn is pretty good without having to adjust, but not flexible. On my horn, the pitch without adjusting is horrible. However, I can bend a 2nd line C down to about an A. I had to play on one of the schools yama-BBb's one day last year, and about cussed because I couldn't adjust as easily.
