As noted, this is a high pitch horn, so it may need extensions to play in modern pitch. It is also probably a 3 valve, which limits the range of the instrument. I personally like these older Conn tubas, but I wouldn't consider it as an all around horn. Value depending on condition and the particular model is between $500-$1200, primarily as a collectable due to its age. It would be good for Civil War re-enactments or similar period band use.
