don't really have their finger on the pulse of tuba-dom. I just wonder
why we so little care...Rick for example you WERE able to appreciate a better
horn than the mediocre to pretty bad ones you referred to. How many others though
didn't persist in playing...and might have if school horns were reasonably decent (and not mediocre to pretty bad.) Also, if its public funds (which as citizens we all at some point contribute to), plus they are not special instruments (which as tubists one might think we'd care about) then WHY do we have some persistent (and I think warped) sense of "need" for these inexpensive knock-offs?
