Ah, 'tis your willingness to not manhandle. Reference my post to Klaus. I have found that a fingering that should render the infamous low C on the flat side, gets me a good pitch and sound. I'm ok down to Bb, but from there on down to F# I still have embouchure problems that need more time to fix. Not the tuba's fault. And I resist the tendency to womanhandle it, too.
