I think the hard cases from D.E.G. are only about $300...a bit more with wheels.
Considering that those custom-made super-protective bags are mostly well over $200 (and would still allow damage), you might consider a case. This very small hard case should fit in any car trunk, and with the h.d. wheels, you would "have it made".
