Hi from England,
I have just acquired a Hawkes Dictor 4 valve euphonium circa 1918.
The 4th. valve produces B ( concert ) not C and an engraving on the
bell, one in treble, the other in bass clef, gives fingerings for C#
as 3&4.
The unusual loop on the back makes it a 'sort of' compensator, the
4th. valve casing measures over 8 inches !
