I played a Kalison Daryl Smith for about 5 years before I could afford anything else to play on.
My thoughts:
The construction and design was sub par (removable leadpipe and valve/slide cluster was always rattling).
The metal was VERY soft- I had trouble keeping dings out of it.
The horn played very brightly for me, too bright.
Intonation was decent, I suppose.
The closed wrap made it hard to move air through it (for me at least).
I wouldn't recommend a Kalison to anyone- there's far superior horns both new and old out there these days.
