When I used to play one (IIRC) I would play BBb=4, A=24, Ab=14 (maybe add the 5th valve here -- maybe not), G=1245, Gb=2345 (maybe 1345), F=1345 (maybe 12345). I don't remember if I could play the low E natural in tune as 12345 or not -- I'm guessing not.

To confirm these fingerings, use the "theoretically correct" fingering for the notes, and add the 5th valve once you notice sharpness beyond what can be comfortably lipped into tune. I believe this will occur at the low Ab or low G. You can play the notes from an octave higher with the normal fingerings and then play these same notes with the lower octave fingerings for intonation comparison -- to figure out which choices to use in the lower octave.
