The Meinl Weston 451 is a really EXCELLENT instrument. I have owned 2 myself and have 3 students playing them here at the University. I have also used the 451 to make one solo recording. I also own a Willson euphonium which I enjoy very much. I find the pitch to be somewhat better on my Willson, but the fact that the Meinl-Weston costs slightly more than half the price of a Willson MORE than evens the instruments. There have also been a few noted solo players who have changed from the Willson to the Meinl-Weston (such as John Mueller). The sound on the Meinl-Weston tends to be somewhat darker and perhaps more similar to that of the Boosey.

So, there's my 2 cents worth!
