I'm interested in getting one of these horns, but have been unable to find one to blow on before making the move. Has any one played one who has constructive views on it?
I currently play a Nirschl WN-10 (pistons). It is a very nice horn, but I think I prefer rotary valves. I will be using this horn in a military band as the only tuba player, the band has other small tubas that can be used for small groups.
One other question is the advantages or disadvantages of the drum(clockwork) springs that Rudolf Meinl offers. I haven't seen these on a tuba since high school ,15+ years ago on an old tuba that had the words "Le sette" enscribed on it (I think it was Le sette). Thanks to all.
