My references to Dm, F, and C were on an Eb not a BBb horn. BBb horns are way easy for Dixie gigs, I even play them on occations. My reading for the most part is sight reading for recording sessions and more legit playing. On dixie gigs I rarely read unless there is an arrangement where specific notes have to be played on the in or out choruses. On the number of valves I tend to use 4 valves for the most part. On my Kalison DS I find the 5th valve useful in bringing the lower notes into tune.
