if your horn is a newer Miraphone, it's likely the leadpipe is raised off of the bell on a couple of standoff-braces. You could try removal of the standoffs, and soldering the leadpipe to the bell. If you're serious about replacement horns, have you tried the 188's? The Alex 173 I mentioned is a different prospect altogether, and if I were chosing between a 188 and a 173, I'd go with the Alex
