The fit is superb. Sometimes there are metalurgical problems that occur (tarnish/sticking) mostly experienced by folks who either play less or oil less than daily.
The last generation guides were made of harder plastic and lasted longer. I've heard that they are now made with embedded aluminum.
Yamaha's valves are certainly far from the worst.
