who says the rotary tubas are terrible? Ive never heard anybody say that. If anything, I like the rotary models better than the pistons. I teach in a public school, and see the schmidts every day. They are well made tubas with good sounds. The intonation is average. Better than some, not as good as others. Nothing a few alternate fingerings or a good ear won't correct. That's the case with almost every tuba out there. Remember, the Schmidts are the same as VMI, and B&S. You sound like you are clumping them with the chinese horns out there.
