Having used it on many sax's, a few euph's and two tubas I can testify that it can work extraordinarily well in many cases. It can also create quite a mess if not used with care. As an example, the inside of a new Cerveny Piggy turned out to still have a good deal of irregularity on the inside surface of the brass in the main bow area. This was not visible from the bell. When the dent eraser was used it was powerful enough that it took out the dent in the bow but also brought the irregularities of the inner surface into evidence on the outer surface of the brass; sort of an "orange peel effect". Use of a weaker magnet or a plastic sheet on the inside of the bow twixt the ball and the metal (this per R Lewis - haven't tried it myself) could get around this. The quite thin and very malleable metal in the Cerveny didn't help. For what it's worth- an older Buescher and a newer Kurath both had a sufficiently smooth inner surface that this wasn't an issue- but it's a good example of the type of unexpected and difficult to correct side effect which the unexperienced may regrettably encounter. Still- with a bit of practice you can get VERY good results in many otherwise take-it-apart situations. It is pretty worthless on tubes under an inch in diameter. Good luck......
