Further, I would challenge many who think of themselves as "good listeners" to (given a screen) to distinguish between a very fine player playing a 6/4 CC tuba and, say, a Conn 14K sousaphone (with the bell somehow pointing up)...
...To make the "blind" test even more "fair", perhaps ask the player to use only 3 or 4 valves when playing the 6/4 CC tuba.
