The most common pre-Parantucci B&S F tuba was the Symphonie (i.e., B&S Symphonie), and the valve bores on that instrument progressed smoothly rather than the first three being the same and the 4th and 5th being the same (if I'm remembering that correctly). The Parantucci'd isntrument had other modifications, too, but I don't remember them all.
