The Miraphone has plenty of core in the sound, and the York Master even more. The Holton more still (though I haven't measured its spectrum). It was my testing that showed me that the notion of "rich in fundamental" is actually self-contradictory. Too much fundamental makes the sound weak, not rich. It's the overtones that add richness. That richness is what locks in the pitch in the hearer, and that's how I define core.
