get in touch with a college teacher in your area and explain what you're doing. many profs have compiled band excerpts. it would be a good idea, along with solo and scale preparation, to be reading through lots of band literature everyday. you will get used to some frequently used patterns, and you may turn out to "sight read" something you've played a few times already.
