My recollection is that I read that Hetman's is compatible with petroleum based products. I was using ultra-pure lamp oil down the leadpipe of my Mirafone 183. Seemed all right, but I was just not happy with it. Maybe it was just too cheap. Anyway, I had to have a valve cleaning (after two years) because one of my valves was sticking on green gunk. When I picked up the horn, I also picked up small bottles of Hetman rotor oil and bearing and linkage oil and just started using them. It's been about 4 months and I have no problems.
