From looking at the pictures I copied and pasted here, I would be curious to see a trace/overlay of the outlines of these two bells.
Assuming the pictures are accurate representations, given the bell flares are only an inch or so different, the small ends of the bells appear to have different relationships to the flares.

As to Matt's comments, I put one of those smaller 'pipes (ordered by the player from Matt W.) on a 2165 for a major symphony player. It absolutely made the 2165 manageable...and now that same player (to my understanding) went ahead and bought a 2265.
