I thnk I admitted earlier to not (yet) doing any slide-pulling on tubas. I lip everything, sometimes well, sometimes not so well. I was just curious about venting valves, is all, to put in some storage compartment in the world's smallest tuba player's brain. The only slide I want to pull.... the main slide on the 184, I'd have to put some weird gizmo on to do it, and well, phooey on it. I'll play some notes sharp or get a better embouchure for bending. Seems like a velcro slip-ring with a T-rod attached might do for pushing and pulling, anyway, avoiding soldering in odd places. That main slide doesn't push or pull without quite a bit of effort....so I think I'll just let it be. Tuned at the factory, you know? (That was a JOKE)
