Grind or drill out the rust spots, and fill the holes with Bondo, which should be sanded and spray painted a brass or silver color to blend.

Next, pour a couple of five-gallon buckets of polyurethane floor varnish into the bathtub and soak the Sousaphone for 48 hours.

Finally, wire the Sousaphone to the shower curtain rod or clothesline and let the varnish cure as needed.

Warning: Do not attempt to play the instrument until the varnish has thoroughly cured.
