Just a personal opinion here, but if people haven't tried it, how can you say it doesn't work? or that it's a temporary fix? or snake oil? or ????

Our trying out different mouthpieces, tape wrapped around the bell, cut horns, cryogenics, etc. all fall into the same category in my mind. Each is an attempt to improve the sound of the instrument. Is that a bad thing? Should we put down someone who is trying something a little different?

I do not use an acousticoil but I have purchased a bunch of mouthpieces, and they all cost more than 35 bucks each. Each mouthpiece was an attempt on my part to improve tone quality, pitch, response, in other words to make the horn do what I wanted.

I'm not supporting the use of the acousticoil, just trying to put it in perspective with everything else we do.
