i started playing on a yamaha three valve in highschool and then upgraded to a wilson my sophmore year. I started on a wilson 2950 and now i play a wilson 2900. I study euphonium in college now and i would strongly recomend that the highschool girl if she is serious about playing euphonium, purchase a wilson horn. I think that the yamaha 4 valve 321 will just hold her back. A wilson euphonium can be purchased used at a very good price or new for around $5000. buying the 321 now and then decided to play professionally will just mean that there will need to be an upgrade in horns down the road. if the student is not going on to college to study music the 321 is a great horn, but if she is i would recommend that she go with a wilson
