Belated response: The low C on my horn (I have an excellent low range) used to sound just fine; when I took off the Schmid bell and screwed on a Lawson bell, the low C JUMPED out of the horn and RESONATED in the entire hall. Mouthpiece, Schmouthpiece. BELL.
