Joe Cada here in Nebraska has been playing a Martin bell-front Eb since forever. Years ago, he played with the Guy Lombardo and Jan Garber Orchestras (on that horn) and is highly regarded as being one of the finest old-time and ballroom orchestra tubists to come out of this area. He has a beautiful, sweet sound on the Martin, and plays with great finess. His Martin is an old one from the 1930s or 40s, and has three front-action valves.
Last spring Joe had heart surgery and is still not back to his steady gig with the Dean Hansen Orchestra. If you have access to one on Dean's tapes or CDs, check out Joe's playing.
