Your logic regarding the asking price for this instrument is flawed. The value of something is based on what someone is willing to pay, regardless of what the seller paid. An extreme example of this is Arnold Jacobs York, which he purchased for $150 while attending Curtis. When he retired, the CSO purchased the instrument for $25,000. Why in the world would they pay so much for an instrument they could have purchased for a mere $150 new? Simple, because it is what was dictated by the market. The same will be true for this instrument. If the seller has it priced too high, no one will make an offer.
It's not up to you to set the price, and the rest of us don't need you to protect us. I seriously doubt that anyone considering an investment in an instrument such as this will do so without doing their homework.
Regarding anonymous posts and the lack of an e-mail address. If you post on various topics under your name, and give out your e-mail address, you will establish your credibility very quickly. If your posts are helpful and valid, people will be more inclined to listen to what you have to say, even if you have a minority opinion. Posting your e-mail address gives others the opportunity to discuss some things in private, without hanging out dirty laundry for all to see. Those who wish to use this board in a constructive manner will usually do both. Those who just want to stir up trouble, don't.
And finally, just because you don't post your name or e-mail, don't think you're completely anonymous. Every post you make can be traced back to you by the board moderator, who can simply delete any of your future posts if he so chooses.
