Are you ready?! I actually woke up in the middle of the night thinking
about this list. I could list over a hundred but that would be a little
much. I can say this: Acquire as much of the greats playing in the types
of ensembles where a tubist might actually find him/herself. Many times,
hearing an incredible quintet, ensemble, chamber group, etc. will spur the
ambituous player to form his/her/it's own group. Below are the great
players in the great groups:

Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, John Fletcher, Tuba
London Brass, John Fletcher (beginning), Orin Marshall
Summit Brass, Gene Pokorny, Daniel Perantoni, Sam Pilafian
Empire Brass with Pilafian on tuba.
English Brass Ensemble, James Gourlay
The New York Philharmonic, Warren Deck
Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Arnold Jacobs
" " " " , Gene Pokorny
Philadelphia Orchestra, Abe Torchinsky recordings
Cleveland Symphony, Ronald Bishop
Canadian Brass, Charles Dallenbach
HR Brass, David Glidden, Hartmut Muller & Heiko Triebener
Stockholm Chamber Brass, any of thier CDs, in particular the one w/
all four of the Ewald brass quintets.
... I could go on. I mean no offense to the many, many fine
players and ensembles that I did not mention.
