It's an acronym perpetuating us Americans' fasciniation with excessive size. We like our meals supersized, our malls with their own zip codes, our cars as big as buses, the tires on those cars must be huge as well as the subwoofer that occupies the rear 2/3 of the car, our pants baggy and hangin a couple of inches below our actual waistline, and we put up with, if not sport with pride, our large guts. We also like our tubas large enough to obliterate anything within sight. It's the American way. All within the ever-expanding earshot of my lap-mortar, I am tuba player!
