Hey Rick, I do like the considerations, I'm just "with Jay on this one" in that I don't think I'll ever be able to figure out what makes "it" in tuba design....at least I don't think I can get "it" any better than the pros who make the damn things, nor the consensus of all builders over the past 150 years! You yourself compare a mirafone to your Yorkmaster, BUT (your words here) these "tubas are different."
I still prefer the flexibility of the hose-o-phone (did you GET "it" this time???)
