This is a similar instrument to the horn played by the original first-euph in the TubaMeisters, only his was a Miraphone. I don't, however, recall what the bore of that instrument was.

It was a great instrument for tuba quartet. It had a tone that was clear and open but without the heaviness of a big euph, and therefore rang out with a distinct voice. With my 621 F on the third part, a standard compensator on the second part, and a Miraphone 186 CC on the bottom part, we had four distinct voices, but could blend just by pulling back a bit. Think the Four Freshmen.

Anyway, we called it a tenor tuba sometimes, and a baryton when we were trying to impress people in the audience.
