Hello people. I hope someone can give me some advice on this matter. A few months ago my horn was stolen and recovered by a member in my ensemble at school. I must say that it was found in three separate pieces and just mutilated to hell and back. I am thankful the instrument was insured and I have already received the check from my insurer. I had planned to replace the instrument but my folks are having a little trouble since they both recently retired, so I gave them the check to use at their bidding. The horn looks asif it were dropped on its back repeatedly and both the bell and the leadpipe have been ripped off. The damage is severe as one can imagine. Is there any sense in trying to get it repaired, or should I wait until I am able to get another instrument? BTW, it was a B&S PT4P. Any remarks will be appreciated, even some possible humor if you see it fit. Thanks....
