Last month some time there was some discussion of a clip-on microphone that somebody really liked for tuba. A website was mentioned, which gave ordering info. The outfit is in Newport Beach CA. Anyway, the price was reasonable, so I ordered one. Well, folks, it would probably work well as a tie-clip mic for newscasters, but it can't handle the sound pressure in the bell of a tuba. I haven't found a condensor mic yet that can. A ten-dollar microcassette microphone (dynamic, no battery required) from Radio Shack works better. I e-mailed the company to inquire about a return for refund, and they have not responded. So if anyone else out there is looking for a good clip-on microphone for tuba, be aware that this is not the one.
