I tried alot of cars and the only one I could get my tuba in was the Buick LaSabre in a case and no problem with a gig bag. i even put my daughters cello in the rear of the trunk and my tuba in the case and close the lid and go to church.
I took the tuba in the case to the dealer and I made them open all the trunks. The other car that worked was the Monte Carlo. I am getting great mileage in my LaSabre too. 20 to 25 mixed and around town and like 28 to 30 on the road.
Love it and my new plates are CKTUBA to go with it
